As part of the Serbian Month in the UK, the British Library, in collaboration with the Serbian Council, organized a panel discussion on 9 March 2019 about Miloš Crnjanski on the occasion of the publication of the first English-language translation of “A Novel of London”. The panel discussion included translators Kristina Pribičević-Zorić and Will Firth (translator of the novel), Dr David Norris, former professor at the Department of Slavonic Studies at the University of Nottingham, and Vesna Stanojević, actress and lecturer at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London. The event was welcomed by the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the United Kingdom, H.E. Aleksandra Joksimović, who emphasized the importance of the development of the overall bilateral relations between Serbia and the UK, especially contributed by the cultural ties between the two countries, which Miloš Crnjanski undoubtedly strengthened, too, through his long stay in London and creativity.
The stay of the translator Will Firth in London was used to promote the English-language edition of “A Novel of London” at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia, on 12 March 2020. The interview with the translator was conducted by Vesna Petković, a prominent member of the Serbian diaspora in London, and excerpts from the novel were read by Maria Allport.
