On the eve of the New Year’s holidays, the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in London hosted students from Serbia, gathered in the Organization of Serbian Students Abroad (OSSI) who study at prestigious British universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, University College London, Imperial and others. In her welcome speech, Ambassador Aleksandra Joksimović referred to the importance of the role of young, educated people for the future and progress of Serbia, expressing gratitude and understanding for their personal effort and engagement. Joksimović especially emphasized the interest of the Republic of Serbia for the return of young, educated people whose valuable knowledge and experience, which they gained at prestigious universities, would be of inestimable benefit to the homeland. In that context, the students had the opportunity to get a better knowledge of various programs of the Government of the Republic of Serbia that encourage the return of emigrants.
Recalling the signed protocol on cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and OSSI, Joksimović underlined that the Embassy is always available to all our students who study in the United Kingdom.
On behalf of the Organization of Serbian Students Abroad, Đorđe Živanović, President of the United Kingdom Branch, addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of promoting the study of Serbian students abroad, connecting them and, finally, their return to the homeland.
