President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić met today with the United Kingdom’s Special Envoy to the Western Balkans, Sir Stuart Peach, with whom he discussed current world and regional issues, such as the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština, as well as the improvement of bilateral relations between Serbia and the United Kingdom.

Recalling that this year marks the 185th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Serbia and the United Kingdom, President Vučić pointed out that our country was determined to intensify Serbian-British cooperation, especially economic, in which there were many untapped opportunities. He also thanked the UK Government for the financial assistance it provides through the Good Governance Fund, focused on supporting reforms in the domain of the rule of law and economic development.

Speaking about the current energy crisis, as a result of the war in Ukraine, Special Envoy Peach said that the UK was ready for cooperation with Serbia in the field of energy security and its improvement.

Regarding the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština, President Vučić once again emphasized that Serbia insisted on preserving peace, full stability and security, especially for Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, and that it was making great efforts to reach a sustainable agreement through dialogue and compromise, without imposed solutions.

Special Envoy Peach thanked President Vučić for his commitment to Belgrade - Priština dialogue. On behalf of the UK Government, he supported the European aspirations of Serbia, stressing that it was necessary to further improve human rights and work on reforms in various areas.
