Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Selaković participated in Berlin at the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the “Berlin Process" participants, which discussed the preparation of the summit of this initiative on 3rd November, but also energy security, the migrant crisis and the European integration of the Western Balkans.

After the meeting, Minister Selaković stated that the meeting, which was chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Annalena Baerbock, discussed the formation of a common regional market, cyber security, but also a higher level of cultural cooperation among partners in the Western Balkans.

As stated by the Head of Serbian diplomacy, in addition to Ministers from the Western Balkans, the meeting was attended by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Austria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Croatia and Bulgaria, as well as representatives of Italy, the United Kingdom, France and Poland.

“The meeting discussed the preparation of the 'Berlin Process' summit, which will be held on 3rd November in Berlin, but special attention was paid to issues such as energy security, the migrant crisis, and certainly the European integration of the Western Balkans. There was also talk about the formation of a common regional market, cyber security, but also a higher degree of cultural cooperation among partners in the Western Balkans," said the Head of Serbian diplomacy.

Minister Selaković reported that the meeting in Berlin was also an opportunity for bilateral meetings and that, with Foreign Ministers of North Macedonia and Greece, Bujar Osmani and Nikos Dendias, he discussed the security and energy crisis in Europe, the crisis caused by the increased rate of inflation as a result of the war.

With colleagues from North Macedonia and Greece, he also discussed the challenges to be faced in future.

Minister Selaković stated that one of the special topics was the migrant crisis, because North Macedonia, Greece and Serbia were located on the southeastern European migrant route, that is, a migrant route that made our position very paradoxical.
    
Serbian Foreign Minister explained that migrants came to Serbia and North Macedonia from the territory of EU countries, not with the aim of staying there, but to go to EU countries again.

"Once again, I emphasized the importance of taking and defining a unique European position on this matter, in order to really find an efficient, beneficial and good answer to this great challenge and big problem facing the whole of Europe," said the Head of Serbian diplomacy.

In the margins of the meeting, Minister Selaković also met with Leo Docherty, Minister of State for Europe at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
