Bilateral consultations of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense of the two countries in the field of security and defense were held in London on January 23, 2023. The delegations of two countries were led by Dijana Ivančić, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia for Security Policy, and Viktorija Billing, Director for Southeast Europe at the Foreign Office. On our side, Predrag Bandić, Acting Assistant to the Minister for Defense Policy and Jagoda Lazarević, Acting Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy. Serbian Ambassador to the UK, Aleksandra Joksimović, and the British Ambassador from Belgrade, Sean McLeod, took part in the consultations. Lord Peach, the British Prime Minister's Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, and Edward Ferguson, the newly appointed UK Ambassador to Belgrade joined the discussion, as well as Nenad Miloradović, Assistant Minister of Defense for Material Resources. Issues of common interest were discussed in a constructive atmosphere: possibilities of improving bilateral relations, intensification of dialogue at highest level, strengthening cooperation in the field of defense, trade and investment potentials of the two countries, energy security, etc. Parties exchanged their views on the situation in the region, support for the integration process of R. of Serbia to the EU, as well as the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
