| Victory Day marking the end of the WW II |

On the ocassion of the Victory Day marking the end of the WW II, Ambassador Dr Dejan Popović and Assistant Defence Attaché Major Bojan Veličković laid a wreath at the Tower Hill Memorial in London, which commemorates men and women of the Merchant Navy and Fishing Fleets who died in the war. Among 4,786 sunk merchant ships there were two Yugoslav rendering services for the Royal Navy – Vojvoda Putnik (44 of the crew were killed) and Velebit (28 of the crew perished). |

On 6 May 2013 Ambassador Dr Dejan Popović delivered a lecture under the title “SERBIA AND REGIONAL COOPERATION IN THE WESTERN BALKANS: EU Membership Perspective as a Tool for Overcoming the Past” at St Antony’s College, University of Oxford. He addressed a large audience of students at SEESOX, professors and other academics. After Lady Elizabeth Roberts, lecturer on the Balkans politics, had made her comments, a vibrant Q & A session followed. |

At the funeral service of former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Baroness Margaret Thatcher, held in St Paul’s Cathedral, on Wednesday, 17 April 2013, the Republic of Serbia was represented by Mr. Goran Aleksić, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs. The previous day, Mr. Nebojša Radojičić, Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Serbian Embassy in London signed in the Book of Condolences.

Members of the UK All-party Parliamentary Group for Serbia underlined on Thursday, 14 March 2013 addressing MPs in the Serbian Parliament in Belgrade that they want to see Serbia as an EU member, and expressed hope that they will be in the opportunity to help in resolving of the most important problems that the country is facing. The delegation of British parliamentarians was headed by Karen Lumley, MP (con.), who is the chair person of the APPG for Serbia.

Mr. Aleksandar Vučić, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Serbia, visited London on 6 and 7 March 2013. He had talks in the House of Lords with Lord Boswell, Chairman, and the members of the European Union Committee, as well as with the Defence Secretary Philip Hammond, Foreign Secretary William Hague, Minister for Europe David Lidington, Minister for International Security Strategy Andrew Murrison and a number of British high security officials. Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia Mr. Nebojša Stefanović, Ambassador Dr. Dejan Popović and Defence Attaché colonel Nikola Lunić took part in these talks. |

Prime Minister of Serbia Mr. Ivica Dačić paid visit to Ireland on 14 February 2013. He had a working lunch with the Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Mr. Enda Kenny and a meeting with Mr. Seán Barrett, the Speaker of the Dáil Éireann (the lower house of the Parliament of Ireland). Ireland fully supports Serbia’s EU aspirations and Mr. Dačić used the opportunity to inform his Irish interlocutors on Serbia’s efforts to meet the Council’s criteria for obtaining the date for the commencement of the accession negotiations. Serbia’s ambassador to Ireland (based in London) Dr. Dejan Popović and the first secretary Mr. Vladimir Dišović took part in the talks held in Dublin.

On 31 January 2013, Mr Greg Hands, MP for Chelsea and Fulham, gave a reception at the Jubilee Room in the House of Commons on the occasion of the formal opening of the exhibition titled The Serbian Medieval Cultural Heritage held in the Upper Waiting Room of the House of Commons. The exhibition’s curators are Ms. Vesna Petković and Mr. Sava Peić. On behalf of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in London, Ambassador Dr. Dejan Popović, Mr. Vladimir Dišović, 1st Secretary and Ms. Emilija Marinkov, 2nd Secretary were present at the opening and at the reception. |

The 19th OSCE Ministerial Council was held in Dublin on 6 and 7 December 2012. OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ireland's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Eamon Gilmore welcomed foreign ministers from the 57 OSCE participating States and 11 partner countries.
Serbia’s delegation was headed by the Minister for Foreign Affairs Ivan Mrkić and it encompassed ambassadors to OSCE Vuk Žugić and to Ireland Dr Dejan Popović.
