Film “Mamaros” in Berwick

The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in London has the honour to inform that film “Mamaros” directed by Momcilo Mrdakovic will open the 10th film festival in Berwick.

RECEPTION HOSTED BY BRITISH-SERBIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN LONDON

On 7 July 2014, the British-Serbian Chamber of Commerce hosted a reception in London for the representatives of British companies interested in business opportunities in the Republic of Serbia as well as for UK Parliament representatives and Serbian diaspora in London.
In addition to exchanging experience and contacts, the purpose of this reception organized by the British-Serbian Chamber of Commerce was partly to prepare the forthcoming British-Serbian Investment Forum scheduled for this autumn in London. The guests were welcomed by the President of the Chamber, Sir Paul Judge, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the UK, dr Ognjen Pribićević and Adviser to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Nemanja Stevanović.


AMBASSADOR PRIBIĆEVIĆ VISITS SCOTLAND

On 26 June 2014, Ambassador Dr Ognjen Pribicevic visited Scotland. On that occasion, he met with Ms Tricia Marwick, the Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament and Ms Fiona Hyslop, Cabinet Secretary for Culture and External Affairs.
Ambassador Pribicevic attended the opening of the last Parliament session before recess and the “Questions for the First Minister”.


Head of the Serbian team for EU accession, Professor Tanja Miščević, visited London

The head of the team of the Republic of Serbia on EU accession Professor Tanja Miščević, visited London on 12 May 2014 and had talks with the representatives of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom – Europe Director Vijay Rangarajan and Mr. Owen Jenkins, Director of the Western Balkans and Enlargement Directorate. She also met with Mr. Angus Lapsley, Director of the European and Global Issues Secretariat at the UK’s Cabinet Office, and representatives of non-Governmental sector, Mr. Mats Person, Director of “Open Europe” think tank and President of the European Movement in the UK, Mr. Petros Fassoulas. In addition to these, she had meetings in the Ministry of Justice, with Mr. Scott McPherson, Director of International Division and in the Home Office, with Ms Emma Gibbons, Deputy Director of the International Directorate. Professor Miščević delivered a lecture at the London School of Economics in connection with Serbia’s accession to EU. 


9 May 2014 at Tower Hill war memorial

Ambassador Dr Ognjen Pribicevic and Major Bojan Velickovic laid a wreath on 9 May 2014 at Tower Hill war memorial in honor of the crew of ships Vojvoda Putnik and Velebit who perished in the Second World War.

AMBASSADOR PRIBIĆEVIĆ PRESENTED CREDENTIALS ON 25 FEBRUARY 2014 TO HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN

Following the presentation of credentials, the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in London hosted a reception which was attended by the Vice Marshall of the Diplomatic Corps, Ms Anna Clunes, who proposed a toast on behalf of Her Majesty. In addition to members of diplomatic corps, the guests included representatives of political and business circles in London.


The Exhibition on Scottish Nurses in the First World War and Book Presentation

The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in London has the pleasure to inform that on Friday, 7 March 2014 at 6:30 p.m. there will be an exhibition in the Embassy to honor the Scottish nurses in the First World War and their engagement in the territory of Serbia, authored by Ms Zvezdana Popovic.

The opening of the exhibition will be followed by a panel discussion and book presentation by Louise Miller, a Canadian writer, the author of the book “A Fine Brother – the Life of Captain Flora Sandes”.
 


EBRD Investment Conference in London

OPENING OF AN EXHIBITION IN THE SERBIAN HOUSE IN LONDON

 

On 10 February 2014, the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia hosted an exhibition Itinerarium Romanum Serbiae (Routes of Roman Emperors in Serbia) in cooperation with the Archeological Park Viminacium, in the Serbian House at 7 Dering Street W1S 1AE in London.

Before coming to London, the exhibition has been put on display in Washington D.C. The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the United Kingdom, H.E. Dr Ognjen Pribicević made an introductory statement and welcomed the guests – members of diplomatic corps and cultural organizations in UK as well as representatives of Serbian diaspora.

The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia has the honor to announce an evening of contemporary Serbian literature featuring writers Ms Jelena Lengold and Ms Vesna Goldsworthy, to take place at EBRD headquarters in the City of London, on 20 February 2014, at 6.30 p.m.

HUMANITARIAN CONCERT IN NORWICH

On 25 January 2014, “The Norfolk and Norwich Novi Sad Association” sponsored a concert of classical music, featuring Ms Dina Šuklar on piano and Mr. Christoph Jahn on cello, from Novi Sad, in the Norwich Assembly House. This humanitarian concert, supported by the Embassy of Serbia, was aimed at promoting Serb-British friendship and raising money for musical school for children and young adults with special needs, “Milan Petrovic” from Novi Sad. The guests were welcomed by the representatives of local authorities CII Driver, Lord Mayor of Norwich and Sheriff G. Crillman who left for Novi Sad in the end of January.
